FEKTAA

FEKTAA, the Federation of Knitwear, Textile and Allied Industry Associations, was constituted in 2000. It was conceptualised with the aim of ensuring active participation from the complete value chain, including, spinning, dyeing, knitting, garmenting, and exports.

FEKTAA is an umbrella organisation of 13 hosiery, knitters, and dyeing and allied industries associations. It provides a shared vision and ensures synergies in effort for all its members.

The primary objective of FEKTAA is to serve as a common platform, where the energies of various industry associations, policymakers, support institutions, professionals and entrepreneurs will converge for a clear and collective future vision.

FEKTAA also works towards developing synergies amongst the various sectors for the overall competitiveness of the cluster.

Other objectives of the association are to share information and knowledge, speak as one voice for the industry, and strengthen and develop linkages. The association will help in building capacity of the industry to meet challenges and tap opportunities in export promotion.

One of its primary tasks is to highlight the difficulties faced by these sectors to the appropriate quarters for addressing these challenges.

In a major initiative of FEKTAA, the partner organisation for Project Vikas in Ludhiana, an e-readiness centre is coming up at SIFT Ludhiana for IT requirements and development.

FEKTAA organises training programmes for the youth, both rural and urban, in coordination with the Ministry of Rural Development on an ongoing basis.
